Good timing for Lenovo Holdings. I have been wanting to buy another pc to replace my IBM Thinkpad, and a Lenovo Thinkpad is the best option...for now.
According to the latest annual research report by the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC) Lenovo is China's top private firm. The company is about to get my $2000, too.
The company turned over $18.4 billion in 2006 and was tops on a list of 3.191 companies, all of which had annual turnover of 200 million yuan or more.
The top 500 firms in China have an average of 7,040 employees.![]()
Some 98 businesses have more than 10,000 people.
Of those, 18 companies employed more than 30,000 people.
More than 8 in 10 (82.6%) were located in
eastern China.More than 60% of the firms paid at least 80% of insurances (pension, medicare, unemployment.)
China's private enterprises are quite healthy thanks to the overall condition of the economy.
Capital-intensive and technology-intensive industries are the targets for expansions.
