Fisher-Price Recalls 1 Million Toys

by BBelew57 on August 4th, 2007

So much for pointing the finger at the Chinese when it comes to maintaining quality.

Fisher-Price Toys is recalling 83 different toys -

"Big Bird! Get back here."

"Elmo, Dora, Diego! You guys, get in here!"

Nearly 1 million (967,000) plastic preschool toys sold in the United States betweenfisher.price.jpg May and Augst are being recalled by the parent company Mattel because they have to much lead in the.

Remember when your parents told you to "get the lead

out?"

Apparently, Fisher-Price didn't listen to their parent company when some of their children's products were found to have more than .06% lead. Kind of like playing with drunk toys.

Mattel, known for its strict quality control (until now) discovered the problem by an internal probe and many of the toys had not even reached the shelves.

Earlier, toy maker RC2 recalled 1.5 million Thomas & Friends Wooden Railway parts.

I reckon Jesus' words have come to haunt some American companies - something about getting the log out of their own eyes before getting a splinter out of someone else's.

Pictures of the recalled toys can be seen here.
