Top Twelve Pirating Nations
The US has a list of countries that are on the "priorty watch list" for IPR violations.
The top two are China and Russia. Russia finds itself on the outside looking in at the WTO because it fails to make progress in the trade of fake and illegally-copied goods.
The other ten countries are:
3. Argentina
4. Chile
5. Egypt
6. India
7. Israel
8. Lebanon
9. Thailand
10. Turkey
11. Ukraine
12. Venezuela.
US lawmakers, in the face of huge trade deficits, complain that piracy and counterfeiting are robbing the United States of exports in industries in areas where it should have an advantage.
Piracy does rob the United States…but the US should be leading in most all industries. America NOT being able to produce products that the world wants at prices the world can afford is what causes the trade deficits.
It's easy. The United States buys more than it sells.
