Crocodiles and alligators are still in the news and the long ugly ones are still winning.
An 8 foot alligator parked himself illegally on the Loop 410 in San Antonio causing freeway traffic to snarl.
Police sirens wouldn't make the critter move...and it just snapped at and flung away the orange traffic cones that were thrown at it.
The gator also took a bite out of a police car bumper. Yum!
The cops finally lassoed the invader and used metal poles to coax it into a drainage ditch that led to a lake...where it could presumably eat some kid who started hitting it with a stick.
Where is Steve Irwin when you need him?
And, doesn't San Antonio have a zoo?

Other croc - human fights... This one has to be called a tie, I think. Previously.... I don't know what so many crocodile stories are doing in the news these days...but... The Crocodiles have pulled ahead 3 -2 versus the Humans. The crocs win this one without a fight. An endangered male croc in Malaysia will be set up with four female crocodiles of the same species and given permission to 'go at it' with any or all four of them. The 15.', 1,036 lb dilly "has got the right stamina and the right aggression." Do you think you have what it takes to beat this croc? Previously, in Taiwan, a croc bit off the arm of a Steve Irwin wannabe. Crocs 1 - Humans 0
A Florida man found a dead alligator (again, I know alligators and crocodiles are not the same) and dragged it home.
Thinking he could turn the alligator, or parts of it, into a belt he started hacking away at it in his front yard.
Nope...can't do that.
Police officers showed up and charged the guy for killing or possessing an alligator...a felony that can be punished by 60 days in jail and a $500 fine.
The alligator got the guy even it was dead. Thus, ...a tie.
In China, (okay, okay, I know some think Taiwan and China are the same...) a crocodile and his buddies ate a nine-year old boy (Croc 2- Humans 0) before he (the crocodile) was made shoe and handbag material. (Crocs 2 - Humans 1).
On the other side of the world, an alligator (on the croc team for the purposes of this blog) went sunbathing with some New Yorkers in Huntington, New York.
The creature was about 5 feet long...and is now at home with the SPCA. (Crocs 2 - Humans 2).
And, we thought the SPCA only caught stray dogs.
What would you do if you saw a crocogator sunbathing next to you at the beach.
