China’s Hottest Girl - Gong Li Pays Through the Nose for Apartment in Shanghai
One of China's hottest girls, Gong Li, is in the news for paying through the nose.
Like the rest of us, she has to pay through the nose for any place she wants to 'lay down her head.'
Gong Li is one of the first to buy an apartment in one of the most luxurious apartments in Shanghai.
The cost…$8,000 a square meter or about $750/sq ft. 
My wife and I have been shopping for a house here in Silicon Valley. The going price for an average single family home is about $500/ sq ft.
For the average Chinese who makes much less, we can imagine just how this price will seem to them.
If your salary is 5-6 times that of an average Chinese, it would be the equivalent of paying $4500/sq ft or abt $6 million for a single family home around 1300 sq feet.
Okay…I'm convinced…the apartment she is buying in Shanghai…she is paying through the nose.

She is not necessarily paying for that apartment–at least not the market price. For the PR value she delivers, i think they will give her a discount.
