The Colonel is in Hot Oil
KFC is in trouble again in China.
Outlets are being accused of using the same oile for as many as 10 days to cook, which experts believe causes cancer.
Let me see, if I can get cancer using 10 day old cooking oil, does that mean I only get one-tenth cancer with one-day old oil?
When does it start becoming cancerous…I wonder?
Some KFC branches add Magnesium Trisilicate into frying oil to prolong its usage. I don't even know what that is, but it doesn't sound good.![]()
I once determined to never eat anything I could spell or pronounce. I had to give that up when I was in Russia. I couldn't spell anything or say it back and I got pretty hungry.
This is the third time the Colonel has found himself in hot oil in China.
In 2005 KFC was found to have put Sudan 1, a carcinogenic food dye, in its New Orleans roast chicken wings.
Last year the company was found to be cooking in artificial fats instead of edible oil.
And people still eat at the Colonel's.
When was the last time you ate at KFC?
Me? About a year ago, my Chinese in-laws came to visit and wanted me to take them there. That was my first time in 10 or more years…and last.
