Beijing 2008 Olympic Games Swimming Preview

by BBelew57 on March 28th, 2007

The Beijing 2008 Olympic games are just 500 days away…and I am hoping I get to go.

The 12th Fina World Swim Championships are underway in Melbourne. They are a preview of what to expect in the Water Cube at Beijing in little over a year.

So far, Americans have set three world records, Michael Phelps in the 200 free, breaking Ian Thorpe's 6 year old record, Natalie Coughlin broke her own 100 back world record and Aaron Piersol did the same in the men's 100 back.

Italy's Federica Pellegrini also broke a world record in the women's 200 free and still has one race in that event to go.

I have a special interest in the swimming events….my son is a swimmer for a Division I school in Ohio.

I have a very special interest in the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.

All the world will be watching..and not just what's going on in the Water cube.

Will you be watching the games?
