Officals looking for better feng shui paint a mountain green
No kidding…villagers in southwestern China are dumbfounded over a recent government decision.
Twenty years of quarrying was brought to a halt when villagers complained about dust and noise.
Logging and development of mountain areas in a nearby province also blamed the mountain's exploitation for heavy floods downriver.
What to do?
The government decided to spend 470,000 yuan to paint the mountain astroturf green. Paint it!
Villagers are guessing that country officials are trying to change the feng shui.
Others just look on in disbelief.
NO matter…it definitely is one way to have a 'greener' China.
