The Ministry of Information Industry is predicting that the number of mobile phone users in China will reach 520 million by the end of this year.
Fixed-line users are dropping because the price of handsets and monthly fees are dropping.
The number of cell phone users grew by more than 67 million last year to 460 million total making about 35% of all Chinese have a mobile phone.
It took ten years for China to reach 10 million cell phone subscribers. Then, within four years, China became number one in the world in users.
And if that doesn't scare you....think about all those people learning how to use their new cell phone AND learning how to drive at the same time!!
It's enough to make you want to take the train, no?
