A survey by Hewitt Associates showed that wages in India rose 13.8% in 2006. Middle class parents take home more than $22,000 annually. It seems the middle class parents are taking home a lot of fast food and empty calories as well.
India is becoming too much like the West - fatter and too glued to the television.
WHO is predicting that if trends continue, India could havev around 80 million diabetics by 2030 - more than 20% of the world's figure.
