Thailand Considers Free-trade Agreement With Japan

by BBelew57 on November 16th, 2006

Thailand’s new government is planning to pick up where ousted Prime Minister Shinawatra’s left off.

The old government negotiated a free-trade agreement with Japan. The new government plans to have an answer by early next year.

Japan is good to go and waiting on Thailand…hoping they will accept the already negotiated accord.

The US is taking the mix-business-with-politics approach and hasthailand japan.jpg suspended free-trade talks because it (the US) considers the military coup a setback to democracy.

It seems strange to me that the US will only do business with ‘elected governments.’ Does China know that?

Is there some hypocrisy here, perhaps?
