An officer in Guangdong said that the province's Christmas exports is up just 1.7% over last year.
However, exports were up 22% from 2001 to 2002, then up 25% from 2002 to 2003.
After that, the exports started to decline, dropping 20% in 2004 and another 2% in 2005.
Though it's a slight increase this year, it 'ain't what it used to be.'
Santa is blaming his decrease in shopping in China on:
1. rising costs of raw materials
2. increased competition
3. growing popularity of Christmas among young people in China - he can make all the little boys in girls in China happy
4. failed quality and safety standards in the EU, US, Canada, Australia
It seems that even Santa has expectations, eh?
What do you think?
