China's Family Planning Strategy

China's Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central committee said that China will continue with its family planning policy.

The policy:

1. Encourages late marriages

2. Encourages late childbearingfamily planning.jpg

3. Allows only one child per family

In January, 2005 China announced it has 1.3 billion people...400 million less than had they not initiated the family planning policy.

400 million! That's three Japans, another America + one Japan and and ...that's a lot of people.

Like the policy or loathe it, the problem is not with the policy but with Mao's 'have more childre' policy back when. This generation and perhaps another generation are paying the price for that foolishness.

What do you think?
