There is a population of Arabic speaking Chinese numbering around 10 million. They are spread across China, but mostly in Ningxia, in the country's northwest.
Now with China and Arab oil deals being made, this unlikely place has become a source of translators with Arabic/Chinese skills much needed in the coastal regions.
The sentiment is "We don't have enough classrooms."
With the average per capita earnings of Chinese being around $1,740, a salary of $2,500 to ten times that much is quite appealing for people gifted in these two languages.
Still, training facilities and teachers are lacking.
Perhaps overseas Chinese might consider studying Arabic before they return/if they plan to return to China.
