China Telecom has established a European unit - China Telecom Europe, Ltd. Its aim is to provide communications and networked IT services to Chinese companies looking to move into Europe as well as be there for European companies wanting to do business in Asia.
China Telecom plans to work with BT Group PLC and Deutsche Telekom AG to offer:
1. Local area networks
2. Conference calls
3. video conferencing
Wholly state owned China Telecommunications Corp. owns 70% of China Telecom Corp. Does that mean that people who use this European service will contribute to the communist ideal? It seems so to me.
Is there a conflict of interest here? Or am I being old-school?
