India's Muslims Feel Discrimination

About one in eight Indians is a Muslim - 140 million or so.

After the 7/11 bombing of a train in Mumbai, India's financial center and home to the Bollywood entertainment industry, the Muslims of the city have been scrutinized...and some say, 'too much.'

India's airports feel vulnerable; along with military facilities both are on high alert.

The Times of India newspaper says India is in the "Arc of Terror."

The terrorists were thwarted in their bomb plot in London. I am still delighted by this and would love to offer my congratulations to all of those who had a part in this. It reminded me of a the television series '24.'

The Muslims crying foul and prejudice and injustice reminds me of something else I saw on 24. One character was complaining of having his turban taken off. Another character responded with "I bet you don't have any problem getting a taxi cab."

There is injustice in this world and it is indeed unfortunate. Living as a foreigner overseas for some 20 years I have experienced my fair share and then some.

We would all do well to understand that there is evil in the world and those who would wish harm on innocent others. Fingers should be pointed in their direction and the rest of us should learn to be a bit more patient with each other.

What do you think?

I believe we need to look in to our backyards before we start looking abroad. We have an entire race of people who are discriminated by our own people. In the 1860's our governments policy was to elliminate the whole race. Today if you go into the rural areas of the U.S. there is still that same attitude. I'm not talking about Black Americans I'm talking about Native Americans, and you do not hear about their strugles. I wish everyone would visit a reservation, wether it be Montana, South Dakota, Arizona, or any other place. You would get an eye opener.

I think the criminal and violent people find some reason to act violently. I don't believe any religion approves of killing innocents. I am muslim and I don't see any part of our holy book order to kill. The first Imam said to love your enemey because he/she might be your best friend, some day. If someone slap you on a face, just smile back and forgive. As Ray said, we should look into our backyard. We can start with ourselves and clean our mind from any negative though and open our heart.
