GE plans to grow with China....of course, so does EVERY other company in the world.
But, GE has a head start on the rest of the world. They are already big.
General Electric Chairman, Jeff Immelt, said GE signed an agreement with the Chinese government to invest $50 million in China over the next five years.
Last year, GE made $5 billion and Immelt says, "we think business could double again in the next four to five years."
Immelt says GE expects to tap into strong growth in China for solar, wind and other renewable power sources. Wind power alone is expected to reach $300-500 million a year. And if they build a giant solar panel over the top of the Gobi Desert they could generate enough power to supply the world!...Really, I did the calculations.
Immelt also said GE will help build more fuel-effcient aircraft engines and railway locomotives, water-saving irrigation systems and more easily recycled plastics.
If it starts with clean...it has a future. And GE is thinking clean.....Great ideas in my book.
What do you think?

Some times, when I read about a big American companies investing their money in other country, it hurts! Why because I think about how maney family going to be homeless because of lack for job. But they know what they doing. $50 million is not a big number for GE. I am hoping that this project would help the whole world not only one country!
For better futur without "Oil War."
