China Mobile Aims for New Record - Millicom International Cellular
On the heels of a new record IPO by the Bank of China on May 23, China Mobile said it is looking to make an overseas purchase.
China Mobile wants to buy Millicom International Cellular. MIC has a HUGE subscriber base all across Latin America, Africa and Asia. Gosh, I can call my friends in Rio, Cape Town and Beijing all on the same network, if that goes through.
If the $5.3 billion deal goes through it will set the record for an overseas takeover by a Chinese company…and we all know, that records are meant to be broken.
As China grows and its major players get bigger, stronger = richer, I am sure there will be even more and bigger takeovers.
