China, India, Mexico - Where have all the Jobs Gone?
Right or wrong, the general public perceives severe job loss in America to be the fault primarily of three countries.
Most job losses, America thinks have gone to
1. China (52%)…then
2. India (37%) and finally
3. Mexico (36%)
I know the numbers don’t add up….what can I say? Some people think the jobs went to two or more countries, no?
When asked about moderate job loss….the ranks change…
1. Mexico (42%)…then
2. India (38%)…and finally….
3. China (33%) .
In short, when push comes to shove, most Americans think their job possibilities have been affected most severly by China and India.
What do you think?

Outsourcing jobs has been around for ages, but I think it only became apparent when the US’ IT industry took the forefront in outsourcing tech jobs to China and India. After the dotcoms went bust, they found it was more cost effective to outsource jobs in countries with low labor cost. Who do you think is on the other line when you call tech support/customer service? Or more appropriately, where do you think your calls are being received? The question is: can Americans compete with low labor cost workers? Intellectually, perhaps. But it all boils down to the money factor.
