Toyota Smells Blood in the Water

Toyota smells blood.

GM and Ford are closing up shop in the south and Toyota is on the prowl, looking to open up another factory in one of the southern states of the US.

Last year, Toyota sold more than 2 million vehicles in the US, right behind Chrysler for number 3 in the States.

San Antonio is the new site of a pick-up truck plant and in 2008, Toyota will begin producing its RAV4 in Ontario,  just to the north.

With 10's of thousands of auto workers laid off by the big two, the learning curve is not likely to be too hard for any new workers that Toyota finds, making it easier for them open up shop and harder for GM and Ford IF they ever get things turned around.

Toyota does things right.

When will US Auto Workers learn and get themselves back on track?
