Gazpromm Huffs and Puffs

Russia’s Gazpromm huffed and puffed because it seems that Western European countries want to block it from buying local gas distribution companies.

Gazprom threatened to take their gas elsewhere - think China or India - and Europe said, in effect, well, okay?

Go Europe!

It seem Europe is put off by the way Gazprom treated the Ukraine and now they are beginning to wonder if it is smart to do business with the behemoth.

I remember back during the Soviet Union era when I was playing Monopoly with some friends. Just as we were getting into the game, I turned to a friend and asked if he wanted to make a deal.

Everybody jumped! "You mean you can make deals off the board?!"

"Uh, yeah." 

They would have never thought of that….and then a flurry followed.

Now Russia is making all sorts of business deals. But what they really need to learn is how to treat people right, or nobody is going to want to play.
