The Moscow Times reported that now is the time to book your dacha.
I remember these things and the love my Russian friends had for them. They can only be visited during the summer, which comes on July 28th at around 1pm and lasts until 1:13pm.
A dacha is a summer cottage where the Russians like to hang out on weekends to escape the drudgery of the cities. They like to grow veggies - beets and such and then haul them home.
The Russian realtors are making a killing (don't all realtors make a killing/) because - like everywhere that people have money - someone starts charging you more for something just because you can pay it AND people pay it.
Not unlike real estate markets in any country, Russians are looking for places outside of the city, but not too far to travel to, but far enough away to get a good view of the surrounding nature, but still affordable...unless you are one of the 88,000 Millionaires.
The going rate for a monthly rental is $5000 in prime locations and $2000 in less desirable areas - $1000 if you want to use an outhouse.
I remember when my friends had to team up with a whole department faculty to rent one place that they all shared for a couple of months in Siberia.
Now, some Russians can go it alone.
Hmm...business is picking up in that country, eh?
