What is the fastest growing internet search company in the world?
Google right? Nope. Their stock climbed 103% in 2005. But there's another company that grew more than twice as much.
It is Korea's Naver . Their stock grew 218%. Of course, Naver's revenues were ONLY $351million to Google's $1.7Billion...but what can I say?
NHN's CEO claims to have compiled the results of some 37,000,000 questions and answers that took more than 3 years to gather so that they can rank readers as 'ordinary, knowledgeable, highly knowledgeable, supernatural and gods.' I scored an audible laugh when I took the test.
In short, this means that the results of searches are more relevant than anything Google can deliver. And that's what searchers want. Real answers to real questions.
NHN is the largest game portal in Japan with 13 million suscribers. It recently bought half of www.ourgame.com a portal with 170 million subscribers in China. And now it has its sights on the US.
Is Korea the Avis of Asia? I don't know...but here they come.
