When a company thinks of outsourcing for IT needs, perhaps the first country comes to mind is India. It makes sense because Indians are bright, capable and can speak English.
Indians also charge a whole lot less than their American counterparts. Indian IT wages range from $8,000-14,000 a month. US geeks get about 7 times that much. For the mathematically challenged - $55K and up.
But, what can you get for about a $1,000 month more? How about a rocket scientist?
Sixty percent of the employees at Russia's Luxoft have a master's degree or equivalent.
They are already proficient in English and don't speak like they have a mouth full of curry. (I have many fine Indian friends - so please don't think I am bashing them. I also love curry rice and can write with a mouth full of it.)
Russians are resourceful, intelligent, hard working and culturally their habits are similar to the those in the US. They laugh at the same kind of jokes, too!
Hmmm...sounds like a potential match to me. Maybe I'll start a new online biz...findarussianitmatch.com
What do you think? Will it fly?
