Brendan Taylor of Asia Times says that North Korea is like a 'neglected child." It acts out because it would rather be yelled out than ignored.
Meaning - Washington needs to pay attention to its short range missle tests.
What's this got to do with business? I'm getting there.
At one point, Kim promised, in theory, to halt his weapons program in exchange for "desperately needed economic and energy assistance."
But, after that deal was struck Washington backed out.
So, Kim has to send up some sort of firework to get someone's attention. Meaning, if this doesn't work, he'll throw up something bigger and bigger till something does work.
Uh...I remember a while back, last year or so, that the Japanese response to a North Korea missile launch was something along the lines of "let them shoot missiles at us. First they won't fly this far, and second, if they did, they wouldn't hit anything."
North Korea couldn't hit the side of a barn.
I am sure Korea Liberator could shine some light on this if I can get his attention.
In any event, what do you think? Should we or anybody do business or provide assistance to North Korea?
